The Caring Committee

A Support System for our Congregation

We all encounter moments in our lives when we could use a little extra help, whether that is navigating an illness or celebrating a milestone in life. The Caring Committee provides an outpouring of caring and empathy to members and is dedicated to providing support in times of need.

This committee helps with a wide range of community needs, including assistance with transportation; phone calls; visits to homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or nursing homes; emergency meals; arrangements for meals of consolation and Shiva; and other short-term assistance as needed.

During my thirteen-month-long treatment for breast cancer, our TBI Caring Committee members called, sent cards, and offered unending emotional support. I am so grateful for their kindness.

Working on the Caring Committee gives me great satisfaction because helping others is so important to me. In today’s world full of personal difficulties and strife I can think of no better way to improve ourselves and others but by giving and receiving help and support. Helping others is way up on my list of priorities and of course it is fundamental to creating community.
