On August 15, 2016, David E. Golden passed away unexpectedly and far too soon, at only 46 years young. David’s family lost a husband, father, son, and brother, and our Temple family lost a cherished friend, mentor, President, and enthusiastic participant in so many aspects of Temple life. He was the wind beneath so many people’s wings, and he is deeply missed.
We thank Vice President Judy Stein for providing us with these words of wisdom and consolation, “As We Move Forward. Flocks of organized geese will soon enough be looking for warmer climes, flying over us in their beautiful Vs. I’ve heard that geese organize around a lead bird at the apex of the V and, when the leader tires, another bird moves forward to help the flock maintain direction and momentum. Jim Baber (now our President) and I are going to try to emulate the geese. Like you, we are reeling from David’s death. It is incomprehensible and sad beyond words. No one had more love for life, family and our Congregation. David is irreplaceable. All we can do is try to learn from his extraordinary spirit and do what we can to rally our Congregation, provide direction, maintain momentum, and move forward – as move forward we must. With your help and support, we will continue to fly. David’s memory is a blessing. May we honor him with our continued love and loving actions for one another, for his dear ones, and for all humanity.”
